The reason for this behaviour is that you're using 'relative' links
for your image files, and you'd be better off using 'absolute' links.
e.g. instead of
<img src="images/708.jpg" width="775" >
the HTML for the entry should be
<img src="http://cosmolog.org.uk/images/708.jpg" width="775" >
The first of these works fine from the front page because the browser
looks for the image file in a directory relative to
http://cosmolog.org.uk/ and it successfully finds it there. But from
the archives page, the browser looks for the image file in a
directory relative to http://cosmolog.org.uk/archives/ (i.e.
http://cosmolog.org.uk/archives/images/) and this directory doesn't
exist, so the browser can't load the images.
If you use absolute links for images, the browser will be able to
find them from any page or directory.
Hope that makes sense.
Cheers, David
