[Surfside] For those concerned with high beef prices, relief is on the way

"Cattle farmers are facing a unique opportunity – record high prices.

"From October through December, beef prices for farmers are generally 
low, according to Joanna Coles, Warren County Extension agent for 
Agriculture and Natural Resources. But not this year, and the 
opportunity does not appear to be going away."


"Today we received word from USDA's National Veterinary Services 
Laboratories in Ames, Iowa, that a single Holstein cow from Washington 
State has tested as presumptive positive for BSE, or what is widely 
known as Mad Cow Disease."
