[MT-users] Major increase in attempted spam?

In the last three days the error log for my blog has increased to 
between 20 and 50 times its usual size.

Inspection of the logs shows that there have been a massive number of 
(failed) attempts to access the mt-comments.cgi and mt-tb.cgi files - 
presumably with the intention of using them to create spam, if the 
files were there, which happily they're not.

Are other blog owners also getting this or have I been singled out 
for 'special attention'?
